Successful topping-out ceremony marks a further milestone for STORZ MEDICAL in Tägerwilen

STORZ MEDICAL AG celebrated another event in its company history on Wednesday, 21 February 2024. With its festive topping-out ceremony, the company celebrates construction of the new warehouse and administration building at its headquarters in Tägerwilen, Switzerland. This step underlines the continuous growth and success of the company known worldwide for its innovative shock wave devices. 

The event began with an aperitif in the new hall, to which employees and special guests were invited. Jochen Vöhringer, Project Leader at METHABAU, delivered the traditional topping-out speech from the rooftop of the new warehouse building – a symbolic act honouring the construction phase, and standing for the new building’s bright future. This was followed by speeches from Dr Gerold Heine, CEO of STORZ MEDICAL, emphasising the significance of the day and the company’s forward-looking orientation, and from Günter Hermann, the architect of the new building, and Michael Scheiwiller, Head of Project Development at METHABAU.

 The new office building, with its outer shell consisting entirely of glass, blends harmoniously into its surroundings with high-quality aesthetic architecture and timeless design. A large geothermal probe heat pump, largely powered by self-generated photovoltaic electricity, provides both heating and hot water. This underscores STORZ MEDICAL’s dedication to sustainability and energy efficiency. 

STORZ MEDICAL AG has written an impressive success story with its expansion since its foundation in 1987 which clearly expresses its commitment to the location on Lake Constance. With its 270 employees worldwide, 176 of whom are based in Tägerwilen, and a portfolio of products used in over 130 countries, the company sets standards in medical technology.

The topping-out ceremony is not only testimony to the building progress, but also symbolises STORZ MEDICAL’s growth and vision for the future. On completion of the new buildings, the company will expand its capacities and further strengthen its position as an innovation leader in shock wave therapy.
